The incompatible changes to luatex in recent luatex versions have required updates to most packages that have any driver or engine specific features. In particular this has affected ifpdf and hyperref packages. Heiko Oberdiek has not had time to update packages due to other pressures on his time and so Heiko and the members of the LaTeX3 and TexLive projects have agreed a new support mechanism. The github organisation https://github.com/ho-tex forms a public repository for maintaining the packages. Issues may be reported on the github site, for example: https://github.com/ho-tex/hyperref/issues https://github.com/ho-tex/oberdiek/issues Additional repositories may be added if updates are needed. Issues may also be reported to the ho-tex(a)tug.org mailing list. (Web interface: http://lists.tug.org/ho-tex) The new mechanism allows small updates to packages to be made as needed. This package now supplies one. The datepicker command creates a readonly text field and a push button to its right. Pressing on the push button brings forth a SWF file displaying a calendar. The user then chooses a date from the calendar, the the date is transferred to the text field. This is a pro application, which, in the jargon of AeB, means that Adobe Distiller is required as the PDF creator. The only drivers supported, as a result, are dvips and dvipsone. As with all such special features, to experience the datepicker, Adobe Reader or Acrobat are needed. The metadata are designed to be easy to extract, even by programs that are oblivious to the document's file format. Most of Adobe's applications store XMP metadata when saving files. Now, with the hyperxmp package, it is trivial for LaTeX document authors to store XMP metadata in their documents as well. hyperxmp integrates seamlessly with hyperref and requires virtually no modifications to documents that already exploit hyperref's mechanisms for specifying PDF metadata. The current version of hyperxmp can embed the following metadata as XMP: authors, base URL, contact telephone number/postal address/email address/URL, copyright statement, creation date, document identifier, document instance identifier, document type, file format, keywords, language, LaTeX file name, license URL, metadata writer, PDF version, PDF-generating tool, PDF/A compliance level and version, primary author's position or title, subject/summary, and title. hyperxmp is compatible with pdflatex, latex+dvips+ps2pdf, latex+dvipdfm, xelatex, and lualatex. Version 2.9 of hyperxmp improves PDF/A support by providing control over the PDF/A part and conformance ID; embedding IPTC metadata in a more validation-friendly manner; and including even empty author, title, and description metadata when PDF/A is being generated. The important feature of pdfxup, compared to similar programs, is that it tries to compute the (global) bounding box of the input PDF file, in order to remove the margins and to keep the text only. Some issues from footnote.sty made it incompatible with the color and xcolor packages; this is corrected by footnotehyper.
