Will Robertson submitted an update to the
fontspec
package.
Version: 2.5 2016-01-30
License: lppl1.3
Summary description: Advanced font selection in XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am pleased to announce a new update for the fontspec package.
Please note it contains some changes regarding font encodings
and the xunicode package that *may* affect its interactions with
other packages.
More details in the notes below and the package documentation.
- v2.5 (2016/01/30) TL2016 release
* Provide a new Unicode font encoding (TU) to replace EU1/EU2 and
xunicode. If this causes problems, load fontspec with the `[euenc]`
option to revert to the old behaviour.
* New command `emfontdeclare` for defining font shapes when arbitrarily
nesting the `emph` command.
* Allow slanted small caps and better internal methods for combining
font shapes; this fixes a few bugs.
* Incorporate new font script tags for Indic fonts.
E.g., when selecting `Script=Bengali`, fontspec will first query
the font for the `bng2` OpenType script, and if not found select `beng`.
* Restrict some font features from being able to be used within
`addfontfeatures` that were causing some font-loading confusion.
* Fixed behaviour in which `aselineskip` and `f@size` would (possibly)
change values after loading the packge.
* Remove copy of `fixltx2e`'s code for footnote symbols;
handled by LaTeX2e now.
* Deprecate `ExternalLocation` for the simpler (and identical) `Path` option.
* Improvement to some warnings/info messages.
* Improve structure of code.

The LuaTeX-ja project submitted an update to the
luatexja
package.
Version number: 20160131.0
License type: bsd
Summary description: Typeset Japanese with Lua(La)TeX
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
* luatexja-preset.sty: support Scale=<fp> and match options
when nfssonly option is specified.
* Japanese font family inside verb and verbatim environment
can be customized by jttdefault.
If luatexja-{preset,fontspec} with match option or ltjsclasses
are used, tfamily changes current Japanese font fmaily to
this jttdefault.
* Fixed several bugs.
Note that IVS support (to enable it, load luatexja-otf.sty and
execute directlua{luatexja.otf.enable_ivs()}) breaks vertical
writing mode with current LuaTeX.
(This IVS support works fine with LuaJITTeX, strangely.)

Scott Pakin submitted an update to the
ctanify
package.
Version: 1.8.1
License: lppl1.3
Summary description: Prepare a package for upload to CTAN
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ctanify is intended for developers of LaTeX packages who want to
distribute their packages via the Comprehensive TeX Archive Network
(CTAN). Given a list of filenames, ctanify creates a tarball (a
.tar.gz file) with the files laid out in CTAN's preferred structure.
The tarball additionally contains a ZIP (.zip) file with copies of
all files laid out in the standard TeX Directory Structure (TDS),
which facilitates inclusion of the package in the TeX Live distribution
of TeX.
Version 1.8.1 adds -y to the zip command to retain symbolic links
(suggested by Martin Sievers).

Version number: SVN 6377 2016-01-19
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: A testing and building system for (La)TeX
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Snapshot of SVN 6377
====================
- Functions deprecated in 2014 removed (package authors have
been informed of this change)
- Case changing code revised to give more useful behaviour when
working with UTF-8 input with pdfTeX and with LICR accents
across all engines. The latter are now recognised 'directly'
by the code and so need no special handling. For UTF-8 input,
the code path for pdfTeX will now case change any code point
that can be typeset in the T1 font encoding.
- Retain whitespace in lines when processing with l3build. This
will require adjustment to existing .tlg files, and is
necessary to give better coverage of line normalisation
between LuaTeX and other engines.
- Fix behaviour of l3galley and addvspace/addvpenalty
