The LaTeX Project submitted an update to the
latex-base
bundle.
Version date: 2014-10-12 (of the documentation, not of the LaTeX
format, which has remained unchanged!)
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: documentation updates
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Karl Berry ran a spell-check over the sources and found a lot
of missed errors - thanks for that.
We also noticed that for some reason the packages in base
(e.g., doc docstrip inputenc ... source2e) have been
distributed for some time without corresponding pdfs (those
pdfs have been in texlive due to Heiko I guess).
So this is now corrected and every .dtx file or other
documentation source has a corresponding .pdf in base so that
those files are now also on CTAN directly available. Note, that
many of the kernel files are combined in source2e.pdf so those
are not generated separately.
This release has no code changes.

Karl Berry submitted an update to the
texfot
package.
Version number: 2014-10-11
License type: pd
Summary description: Filter clutter from the output of a TeX run.
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
texfot is a Perl script to filter the online output from a TeX run,
attempting to show only those messages which probably deserve some
change in the source. The TeX invocation itself need not change.
This update fixes bugs with merging stdout and stderr, and propagating
the exit status from TeX to be the exit status from the script.

Josef Kleber submitted an update to the
getmap
package.
Version number: 1.8
License type: lppl
Summary description: Download OpenStreetMap maps for use in documents.
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he goal of this package is the simplest possible provision of
map images (OpenStreetMap, Google Maps and Google Street View
are supported). In the simplest case, the specification of an
address is sufficient. The package loads the map using the
write18 feature, which you must activate to use this package.
The image will be downloaded by an external Lua script. You can
use this script also from the command line.

Changes in v1.8:
- added support for long routes by the gps2gps mode (getmapdl.lua)
Long routes might be defined by several thousands of way points.
Encoding these into a encoded polyline would hugely exceed the
URL length limit of 2048 bytes. The gps2gps mode allows you to
reduce the number of gps coordinates based on a given bound.
- added multi route support for gps2epl mode
- updated documentation
