On Thu, 20 Sep 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the
langcode
package.
Summary description: language-dependent settings based on language codes
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
`langcode.sty' in the first instance provides a command
uselangcode{<chars>}
to adjust language-dependent settings, such as key words,
typographical conventions, and language codes (ISO-639-1).
An author frequently writing documents in two or more languages
can use the same commands independently of the language,
provided they are gathered in a list macro to be used by the
`dowith' package. If `<cmd>' is in the list, it is set to work
like `<chars><cmd>', and a macro `langcode' will expand to
<chars> (the respective tokens), usable in URLs.
The package is ``generic, based on `plainpkg'. The code has
been used with `morehype' and `catchdq' (`catcodes'), but may
be useful more generally.

On Thu, 20 Sep 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the
catcodes
package.
Summary description: generic handling of category codes (private letters, active characters)
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The `catcodes' bundle deals with category code switching.
The contained packages should work with LaTeX as well as
without (based on the `plainpkg' package). The important
cases of category codes are
(a) private letters for internal package commands and
(b) active characters.
`stacklet.sty' deals with (a), `actcodes.sty' with (b).
There also is
(c) `catchdq.sty', an application of (b),
for automatic insertion of typographical double quotes
when the user only enters ASCII double quotes. What is
typographical differs between languages, the new
`langcode' package completes `catchdq''s functionality
in this respect.
See README for documentation and
similar (more comprehensive) packages.
Some macros and code are moving here from the `morehype'
and `nicetext' bundles, attempting to improve all of
them. It may take some weeks to upload my most recent
versions of the latter bundles to render the public
versions compatible which each other again.

On Thu, 20 Sep 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the
plainpkg
package.
Summary description: minimal method for making generic packages
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
`plainpkg.tex' provides a minimal method for making generic
packages, combining `maybeload' functionality, fallback definitions
for ProvidesPackage and RequirePackage, and handling of arbitrary
(multiple) private letters in nested package files. The
documentation contains a central reference for making and using
generic packages based on `plainpkg.tex'.
For catcode stacks, the package actually requires
stacklet.sty (new catcodes bundle). See README for
related (more comprehensive) packages.
