On Thu, 3 Nov 2011 Theppitak Karoonboonyanan submitted an update to the
thailatex
package.
Summary description: Typeset Thai texts with standard LaTeX classes
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fonts previously provided in thailatex are now split into a separate package
fonts-tlwg (upstream project name: thaifonts-scalable).
If your old Thai LaTeX documents do not use 'thswitch' package, font families
will not be switched with sffamily or tfamily commands. Only the default one
will be used throughout the document.
To allow font switching, it is now recommended to usepackage{fonts-tlwg}. It is
currently equivalent to usepackage{thswitch}, but the latter is deprecated
soon, to allow alternative Thai font packages to come.

Summary description: Thai fonts for LaTeX from TLWG

Previously included in thailatex package, the Thai LaTeX fonts are now provided
as a separate package, along with their SFD sources. In fact, the generated
fonts used to be copied over from the source to thailatex on every release. Now
they are just distributed directly.
thailatex will still hold some shared resource such as the Thai language
definition file for Babel. And the split will allows other Thai font packages to
come.
