CTAN Updated: bidi

On Tue, 14 Jul 2009, Vafa Khalighi, having taken over maintainance, submitted an update to the bidi package. Location on CTAN: /macros/xetex/latex/bidi/ Summary description: Support for bidirectional typesetting with XeLaTeX License type: lppl Announcement text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the new release of the bidi package (v1.0.1). This version has been tested by me and other people and so contains a minimum number of bugs (or known better as XeTeX limitations). In this version we have fixed all the known bugs and support for lots of LaTeX packages is added. There is no real documentation at the moment due to my illness but if you have any question, then please ask it on the XeTeX mailing list. There are heaps of examples that will help you understand how this new version works and what features are added. Unfortunately it proved almost impossible to support hyperref and color because of XeTeX limitations. For color support, you are encouraged to use xecolour package instead using ordinary color and xcolor packages. Also please note that when you use longtable package with bidi package, in RTL mode, your tables will not break when a page is finished and again this is due to XeTeX limitation. On Tue, 14 Jul 2009, John Bowman submitted version 1.81 of the asymptote package. Asymptote is a powerful descriptive vector graphics language for technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like syntax. Asymptote provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting that LaTeX does for scientific text. Location on CTAN: /graphics/asymptote Summary description: 2D & 3D TeX-Aware Vector Graphics Language License type: lgpl Announcement text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A boolean targetsize option can now be used to draw 3D labels with the apparent size they would have on the target plane. The camera adjustment algorithms were fixed; the autoadjust flag is respected. Missing path3 functions such as endpoint(path3) were added. The doubleclick timeout under MSWindows was fixed. A workaround for a ConTeXT small font bug is illustrated in contextfonts.asy. File associations are now used under MSWindows for psviewer, pdfviewer, display, and animate. Single quotation marks are now allowed in filenames. Deconstruction is now only supported in PNG format; the xformat setting was removed.
