Location on CTAN: /graphics/asymptote
Summary description: 2D & 3D TeX-Aware Vector Graphics Language
License type: lgpl
Announcement text:

An error in the surface bounding box routines was fixed.
Path/surface
intersection routines were added. PDF tex engines are now
supported for
3D labels and texpath. The new ConTeXT tex engine can be
used for both 2D
and non-PRC 3D drawings. Projections LeftView, RightView,
FrontView,
BackView, BottomView, and TopView, along with an addViews
function, were
implemented. Portability fixes and various updates to
support TeXLive
builds were made. The dependence on currentprojection in
label(Label,
path3) was removed. The font command for LaTeX tex engines
now requires all
four NFSS (encoding, family, series, shape) arguments.
