Name of contribution: biblatex-dw
Author's name: Dominik Wassenhoven
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/exptl/biblatex-contrib/biblatex-dw/
Summary description: Humanities styles for biblatex
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
version 1.2e
- Adjustments to biblatex version 0.8b. Note that from
this version on biblatex 0.8b is required, so you have to
update biblatex as well if you would like to use
biblatex-dw 1.2e!
-> The new biblatex option 'usetranslator' is supported.
- BUGFIX: The option 'firstfullname' introduced in version
1.2d had a bug which is now fixed.
- BUGFIX: The 'idem' functionality did not work with the
multicite commands. This is now fixed.
- New option 'journumafteryear': If set to 'true', the
'number' in article entries is printed after the year and
introduced by the bibstring 'number'. If set to 'false',
the default behaviour is used, i.e. 'Journaltitle
volume.number (year)'. The default is 'true'.
-> If 'journumafteryear' is set 'false', the separator
between volume and number in @article entries is now
configurable with the new command 'jourvolnumsep'.
The default is a dot (which is also the default in
biblatex).
- When the 'volume' is missing, the parenthesis around the
year in @article entries is omitted.
- The multicite command cites is now also always printed
as footnote in 'footnote-dw'.
- Some changes in the internal code.
- Extended the documentation and examples.

On Tue, 16 Dec 2008, Josef Kleber submitted an update to the
pdfcomment
package.
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/pdfcomment
Summary description: A user-friendly interface to pdf annotations
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For a long time pdflatex has offered the command pdfannot for inserting
arbitrary PDF annotations. However, the command is presented in
a form where additional knowledge of the definition of the PDF format is
indispensable. This package is an answer to the – occasional – questions
in newsgroups, about how one could use the comment function of Adobe
Reader. At least for the writer of LATEX code, the package offers a
convenient and user-friendly means of using pdfannot to provide comments
in PDF files. Since version v1.1, pdfcomment.sty also supports:
LaTeX -> dvips -> ps2pdf, LaTeX -> dvipdfmx and XeLaTeX.
Unfortunately, support of PDF annotations by PDF viewers is sparse to
nonexistent. The reference viewer for the development of this package is
Adobe Reader.

On Mon, 15 Dec 2008, Ingo H. de Boer submitted an update for the
winshell
package.
Location on CTAN: systems/win32/winshell/
Summary description: WinShell is a free multilingual integrated development environment (IDE) for LaTeX and TeX.
License type: nosource
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am happy to announce the WinShell 3.3 Release.
The new major feature is the BibTeX front-end where BibTeX
entries can easily be created and edited. Also, there is a
streamline of the original full toolbar and a pdfLaTeX
optimized toolbar which can be choosen during installation.
WinShell 3.3 also supports SyncTeX and Sumatra PDF for
forward/inverse search. From this version on there is no
more Win9x/NT support, but Linux support via wine.

Name of contribution: Toptesi v.5.00
Author's name: Claudio Beccari
Location on CTAN: /contrib/toptese
Summary description: This is a bundel of files for typesetting university
theses in a multilanguage environment.
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a main upgrade of the bundle Toptesi; the main
difference is the new version has provisions for saving the
output thesis file in PDF/a-1b compliant form. This format
is particularly useful for archiving. The PDF/A difficulties
are discussed in the /english and Italian documentation and
several fine modifications are already included in the class
file so as to avoid the user to fiddle with some obscure
features that may forbid the output file to fully satisfy
the PDF/A specifications established by the reguation ISO
19005-1:2005.

explicitly. E.g., leading{15.5pt} will use linespread to space out the lines
of text by the amount specified.
