Thanks to Robert Rutten for early testing and debugging. * PGF output functionality added, though not stable yet. Only added for demonstration purposes. * EEPIC output changed to have extension .eepic instead of .out. The PGF drawings will have the extension .pgf. This change was moreover done because .out is already an output extension for LaTeX. * Multilevel undo and now working on more stages of the drawing process. * All objects selectable with CTRL+A. Arrow drawing used to have this shortcut key and is now assigned to CTRL+W. * Stripped buggy and more or less useless features like zoom form, instances, anti-aliasing. * When previewing PDF output, now closes all documents when Adobe Acrobat Reader is already open. The preview PDF file couldn't be overwritten in previous versions of LaTeXPiX because when it is opened in Acrobat the file gets a read-only status. * Added rulers with support for centimetres and inches. Moreover, the grid distance is also controllable from the main drawing grid. * Some preferences were not stored, thanks to Robert Rutten for finding this bug. * Crash occurred when registering manually. Thanks to the various users for pointing this out. * Set unitlength to 0.254 because in EEPIC 1 inch which equals 2.54 cm so 0.254 mm. * Transparency can be set for Windows NT based systems. * Using MDI form for drawing canvas, making toggling of toolbar redundant and offering more stable user interface. * Using RGB colours instead of CMYK colours. CTAN update: extract

On Wed, 12 Jan 2005, Hendri Adriaens submitted version 1.3 of his package extract The package provides the means to extract specific content from a source document and write that to a target document. One could, for instance, use this to extract all exercises from lecture notes and generate an exercises book on the fly. CTAN update: Euler-VM 4.0

On Tue, 11 Jan 2005, Walter Schmidt submitted version 4.0 of the Euler-VM fonts. Location on CTAN: fonts/eulervm License type: unknown Announcement text: Euler-VM, in the CTAN directory fonts/eulervm, is a collection of (virtual) math fonts and a related LaTeX macro package. Euler-VM blends well with various popular text fonts, such as Palatino or Minion. The present submission constitutes version 4.0, featuring the following bug fixes and changes: An obscure bug, affecting the extensible symbols in the font zeuex10, has been fixed. (I'm surprised that it went unnoticed since the very first release of Euler-VM, even though it seemed quite serious to me.) Slightly changed vertical symmetry axis in formulas, to comply exactly with the design of the math symbols in the Euler fonts. Documentation in PDF format, to show the fonts in use. The attachfile package brings this functionality to pdfLaTeX and provides some additional features not available in Acrobat, such as the ability to use arbitrary LaTeX code for the file icon -- including things like includegraphics, tabular, and math. CTAN upload notification: Revise bst files for natbib

On Fri, 7 Jan 2005 Patrick Daly uploaded revised bst files for the natbib package. natbib is a Bibliography style with author-year and numbered references. Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/natbib License type: lppl Announcement text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The natbib package comes with replacement bst files for 3 of the 4 standard BibTeX styles: plainnat, abbrvnat, unsrtnat. Until now, the ordering is exactly as for the original styles, which is not always appropriate for author-year citation. Especially when works have identical authors and years, as in a multipart paper, the original ordering has undesirable side effects.
