I generally intend them to be used as a basis for modifications. For that reason I avoided the use of docstrip: keeping the source and comments in one file makes hacking easier. I tested them with recent version of heblatex from http://ivritex.sf.net/ . Specifically, they use hebalef rather than alef, and thus will not work with heblatex 2.0c from babel. Due to necessary changes for Windows XP please announce the update as follows to CTAN-ANN. ps2eps v1.39 in CTAN:support/ps2eps ----------------------------------- ps2eps is a tool to produce Encapsulated PostScript Files (EPS/EPSF) from usual one-paged Postscript documents. It calculates correct Bounding Boxes for those EPS files and filters some special postscript command sequences that can produce errorneous results on printers. You need: - perl (an interpreter for the perl language, see http://www.perl.com) - ghostscript (an interpreter/raster image processor for the PostScript language, see http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/) - maybe an ANSI-C compiler if you don't use Linux, Solaris, Digital Unix, HP-UX or Windows 9x/NT/2000. - The program is licensed under gpl. Important changes since version 1.35: - This is an update that allows also to convert postscript files created under Windows XP (or PScript.dll 5.2) to eps. I found that the original postscript output drew white boxes that erased portions of the text above the bounding box of the embedded image, although the .eps image was clipped by includegraphics*! ps2eps fixes this. - Added filter for Star/Openoffice 5.2 - Added /setpagedevice {pop} def to prolog in order to fix problems with pdf creation, pstricks and nested dvips output (thanks to Hans Fredrik Nordhaug <hansfn(a)mi.uib.no> for suggesting this addition) - Improved processing of binary files with beginimage endimage ----- End forwarded message ----- Thanks for the submission. Window Docking -------------- BaKoMa Text editor supports docking another windows at any edge of own window. It supports four docks: `Left', `Right', `Bottom', `Top'. Dockable windows have `Docking' option in context menu activated by clicking right mouse button in the window. This option enables choose desired dock for a window, including virtual dock: `None', that disable docking of the window. Currently, dockable windows are: * Console Windows (new version manages several consoles) * Messages Window * DVI Windows (!!!) It is important, that every copy of DVI Viewer has own docking settings. So, you can choose different docks for regular document Windows (DView-0, ...), Character Map (DView-F), Partial Preview (DView-P), Dynamical Preview (DView-B), and Help Viewer (DView-H). In advance, BaKoMa TeX 5.0 introduces different consoles for compiling regular documents (Console), for `Dynamical Preview TeX Daemon' (Console-B), and for generating Postscript files (Console-G). This approach enables: (1) choosing different docks for running these processes, and (2) compiling entire document without stopping Dynamical Preview. Sizes of window docks may be adjusted under `Docking' tab of dialog opened by `Options|Appearance ...' editor menu command. You can specify which dock will occupy bottom corner of the editor window. Width of bottom dock or height of other docks may be adjusted by dragging rulers whose divide docks from another window space. `Top dock' is slightly non standard object. It is positioned at right top corner of editor window. It shares top area of window with control bars. This dock is small dock. However, it may be useful for managing `Console Window' and `Messages Window' on large displays, that will save a lot of space for another tasks. corrected version of type1cm.sty

i have contacted david carlisle, the author of type1cm.sty, and with his permission i have corrected the errors in the package that i know about. i have installed the new version of the package source on ctan - macros/latex/contrib/supported/type1cm/type1cm.fdd there were two errors i knew of (in the coding of the use of cmbx and cmti fonts), and bob tennent pointed out a third, in the use of euex10. if anyone should spot any further problem with this new version of the package, they should report it to me and i'll put it right on the archive. there shouldn't be any, since i've scanned the file for other errors ... but i missed euex :-( Robin Fairbairns For the CTAN team

what i did on my holidays (uk tex faq)

i have just installed, on ctan and on the web, a new release of the uk tex faq. changes: 1. this is the first time for ages that i've looked at the faq with an editorial eye: this occupied some of the time on my holiday... 2. yet more rearrangement of the section structure of the faq; in particular introducing new fonts and graphics sections. the fonts section hasn't had much technical work (though there is one new contributed answer in there), but the first three answers in graphics are completely new, and replace the old using postscript graphics. 3. several corrections and enhancements to existing answers, from contributors. 4. a select few additions from my (huge) backlog of questions to be answered.
