CTAN submission -- new polynom package

The Readme file says about the package: ------------------------------------------------------------ The `polynom' package implements macros for manipulating polynomials, for example it can typeset long polynomial divisions. The main test case and application is the polynomial ring in one variable with rational coefficients. New MiKTeX and LaTeX releases

Lots of other things get mirrored from other sites though, e.g. MiKTeX. Unfortunately we can't announce such things regularly as we would have to wade through each updated package, analyse the - hopefully existent - readme files, etc. Therefore we have to trust the owners of packages mirrored to CTAN to announce their new versions by themselves. Of course we are glad if they send us a release/update notice that we can forward to CTAN-ANN. Having said all this, I should add that the LaTeX release <2001/06/01> is on CTAN for two days now. New Dante CTAN server

I am proud to announce that one of the three central CTAN hosts, ftp.dante.de and www.dante.de, has moved from the old server sun.dante.de, located in Mainz, Germany, to a brand new machine nova.dante.de, which is now located in my faculty in Hamburg, Germany. DANTE, Deutschsprachige Anwendervereinigung TeX e.V., appreciates the long time support of the Computer Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz which has hosted the Dante servers for many years. CTAN submission -- BrushScriptX-Italic PS Type-1 fonts (update)

I have installed an update of the Type-1 font BrushScriptX-Italic by Maurizio Loreti in CTAN:/tex-archive/fonts/brushscr. >From the README file: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This directory contains: a Type-1 font named BrushScriptX-Italic, that simulates hand-written characters; all the files needed by LaTeX in order to use that font; a file AAA_readme.tex that fully describes the package; two example files. History: - The original (public domain) NeXT screen font has been edited, with a Type-1 font editor named TypeSmith, on an Amiga computer. The service files have been generated using the fontinst package by Alan Jeffrey. - Having TypeSmith generated a buggy font, Louis Vosloo of Y&Y, with enormous courtesy, has fixed the font in his spare time (I no longer had an Amiga computer, or a font editor of any kind). - Rolf Niepraschk submits a file pbsi.sty . - A more strict dvips (5.86e) refuses to handle the font. Rolf Niepraschk submits a fix, generated by the type1fix perl script. - Having learnt about a free Type-1 font editor called 'pfaedit' by George Williams (http://pfaedit.sourceforge.net) I have completely re-edited the font. I recommend placing the unpacked files README, paralist.ins and paralist.dtx in macros/latex/contrib/supported/paralist/ replacing the old versions. >From the abstract: This style file provides some new list environments. Itemized and enumerated lists can be typesetted within paragraphs, as paragraphs and in a compact version. Most environments have optional arguments to format the labels. Additionally, the LaTeX environments |itemize| and |enumerate| can be extended to use a similar optional argument. New in the version are: - New options alwaysadjust, neveradjust and neverdecreas to adjust label widths. - New environments asparadesc and inparadesc. - Flushleft labels. - New macros setdefaultleftmargin, setdefaultitem and setdefaultenum replacing the macros without set. CTAN package upgrade: JavaBib
