On Sun, 13 Feb 2005, Axel Sommerfeldt uploaded version 3.0d of his package caption Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/caption License type: lppl (maintained) Abstract: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The caption package provides many ways to customise the captions in floating environments like figure and table and cooperates with many other packages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This is mainly a bugfix release of the caption package 3.0. Changes: - Design change: Split package into two parts, caption.sty (package) and caption3.sty (kernel) - New option name= - sets float name, for use with captionsetup[] - New options figurename= and tablename= - New option type= - sets caption type, for use inside floats/environments - Bugfix in sidecap support: @captype will be defined so captionsetup[] works for these environments, too - Bugfix 04-08-04: . abovecaptionskip & elowcaptionskip will be used for longtables, too . position= will be taken into account (default for longtables: position=top; position=auto will usually not work) - Bugfix 04-10-26: Skips (margin/indention) will only be typeset if set - Bugfix: captionmargin will be set twice now (left+right of the caption) - Bugfix 04-12-19: vrule@heighthtstrutbox@widthz@ will be used instead of strut - Bugfix 05-01-23: @finalstrutstrutbox added - New option strut= - switches the use of the struts on/off (default=on) - Bugfix in single-line-check: captionwidth will be used for the check instead of hsize = width of the vbox Thanks for the update. CTAN update: FPL Fonts

On Sun, 13 Feb 2005 Ralf Stubner submitted version 1.002 of the FPL fonts package. The FPL Fonts provide a set of SC/OsF fonts for URW Palladio L which are compatible with respect to metrics with the Palatino SC/OsF fonts from the original Adobe fonts. The SC and OsF in the FPL Fonts were designed with the glyphs from URW Palladio L as starting point. For some glyphs (eg 'o') I got the best result by scaling and boldening. For others (eg 'h') shifting selected portions of the character gave more satisfying results. All this was done using the free font editor FontForge (http://fontforge.sf.net). The kerning data in these fonts comes from Walter Schmidt's improved Palatino metrics. On Sat, 12 Feb 2005, Staszek Wawrykiewicz uploaded version 0.78 of the tif2eps package. Authors: Boguslaw Jackowski, P. Pianowski and P. Strzelczyk License: GPL Location on CTAN: support/pstools/tif2eps TIF2EPS is a PostScript program for the conversion of TIFF files (ver. 6.0) to EPS ones. Compression (LZW, CCITT Fax, RLE, Flate, DCT) and ASCII85 encoding is available. The package may be used for generating colour- separated EPSes, `EPS thumbnails,' and, moreover, little header EPSes, containing only a pointer to a source TIFF file. Location on CTAN: /support/ltxdiff Summary description: A Win32 program(me) that compares tokens in two .tex files (or directories [+subdirectories] containing .tex files) and marks them if it thinks it can License type: nosource Announcement text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- A Win32 program(me) that compares tokens in two .tex files (or directories [+subdirectories] containing .tex files) and may mark differences according to the options set by using GNU Diff to find tokens to be marked. It tries to be clever at this and won't mark something if it thinks it shouldn't, ie. \[10mm] won't be marked as changed if it was \[8mm]. The number of commands and environments it knows is small (the ones I use in my game design) and include some of my own, which might lead to strange behaviour or even crashes or endless loops - being able to interrupt the program(me) with CTRL+C comes in handy in such cases - if you use commands/environments of the same name but different definition. An other diff program(me) may be used if it has the switches -b, -B, -d, and -E and they are compatible to GNU Diff's. On Fri, 11 Feb 2005, Walter Schmidt upoloaded a bundel called lettergothic containing: (1) the PostScript font family Letter Gothic, which URW has made available for free under the Aladdin Free Public License, see <http://www.artifex.com/downloads/> (2) font metrics, macros etc. to use the fonts with LaTeX; this material is released under LPPL Because of the Aladdin license, the bundle has been installed in: nonfree/fonts/urw/lettergothic Thanks for the upload. CTAN update: antt fonts version 2.02

On Mon, 7 Feb 2005, Staszek Wawrykiewicz submitted an update to the antt fonts. Antykwa Torunska is a serif font designed by the late Polish typographer Zygfryd Gardzielewski, reconstructed and digitized as as Type 1. Font author: Janusz Marian Nowacki Location on CTAN: fonts/antt License: GPL The current distribution (ver. 2.02) contains slightly corrected Polish diacritical letters in caps and small caps.
