The FTP service for the CTAN main node
dante.ctan.org
is working again, after replacing the ftp server software (proftpd) by another
one (vsftpd).
With this change, FTP uploads on dante.ctan.org are no longer possible.
Uploads should be done via the web interface:
http://upload.ctan.org/

For the CTAN team
A security flaw has been found in the the FTP server program that is
used at the tug.ctan.org node of CTAN, as noted earler by Rainer.
Consequently I shut off this service. I expect that it will be off for
a few days, for lack of time to repair it. I apologize for the
inconvienence.
Individuals who use HTTP would not be immediately affected by this
change.

A serious bug has been detecetd in proftpd:
http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3521
As a consequence, ftp access to ftp.dante.de a.k.a. dante.ctan.org will be
disabled, effective immediately. http or rsync access to dante.ctan.org are not
affected.
Service will be resumed only after this bug is corrected.

Caption: LaTeX Class for the Israel Journal of Mathematics.
Description: The Israel Journal of Mathematics is published by The
Hebrew University Magnes Press. This class provides LaTeX support
for its authors and editors. It strives to achieve the distinct
“look and feel” of the journal, while having the interface similar
to that of the amsart document class. This will help authors
already familiar with amsart to easily submit manuscripts for The
Israel Journal of Mathematics or to put the preprints in arXiv with
minimal changes in the LaTeX source.
