The library can be used by a modified dvips to convert images on the fly. Depending on the PS level choosed for output one can use run-length compression, flate compression and ASCII85- encoding instead of ASCII-Hex to create smaller output files. Alpha channels in images can be used for mixing and/or to create an image mask. Licence is LPPL. >From the README: This package contains the cmbright fonts in Type1 format. Only the fonts are included that are not part of the cm-super bundle (thus, math and OT1 fonts). This package contains the ready Postscript Type1 fonts in PFB format as used by dvips and pdflatex, as well as a map file and a config file for dvips. The font names and the file names begin with 'hf' for 'harders font'. This has been done for not getting mixed up with the commercial cmbright fonts by MicroPress. This has been suggested by Walter Schmidt, the creator of the cmbright fonts. v3.3 of uk tex faq on ctan and web

i have installed this version of the faq to the usual places. as usual, for a major release, there are a few more questions answered, and a few more wrinkles in old material sorted out. an innovation, this time, is the files pdf-newfaq.lab and pdf-letterfaq.lab; these give the relationship between question labels and question titles, for the two forms of pdf that i distribute. the files are actually output of a toc-like mechanism; i've not actually convinced myself of a way to typeset them, yet :-( robin fairbairns. who _won't_ be speaking at the uk tug meeting about faqs and things, because of the lack of any voice.
