Version 1.1 stacks several combining characters on one base character instead of converting only the first: "x" + U+0302 + U+0302 is now rewritten on input to "\hat{\hat x}", with the first combining character nearest the base. Previously the characters after the first were passed through unchanged and usually produced no output.
