Liam Huang submitted an update to the
zhnumber
package.
Version: 3.1
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Typeset Chinese representations of numbers
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This release of zhnumber v3.1 adds counting-rod numeral support, new date formatting options, several bug fixes, and compatibility updates.
NEW FEATURES
- Added counting-rod numerals `\zhrod` and `\zhrodbox`, along with the configuration command `\zhrodsetup` (#366).
- Added support for outputting year-only or year-and-month dates.
BUG FIXES
- Fixed a typo where `\zhdigwithoptions` passed its options as an extra argument to `\zhnum_digits_counter:n`. Previously, `\zhdig` with options would error with "Use of \??? doesn't match its definition" and produce garbled output (#1008).
- Fixed a typo where the `Tn` key was bound to the Heavenly-Stems-and-Earthly-Branches (干支) variable instead of the Heavenly Stems (天干) variable. Setting `Tn` previously affected the output of `\zhganzhi` rather than `\zhtiangan` (#1077).
IMPROVEMENTS
- Documented the behavior of option-bearing forms when written to auxiliary files: the counter value is frozen at write time, while the style is applied when the auxiliary file is read back (#1008).
- `\zhnum` and `\zhdig` with options now expand the counter to its numeric value before passing it to the underlying implementation, so that the counter value is frozen when written to `.toc` and similar auxiliary files (#1008).
- Replaced the deprecated `\keys_set_filter:nnnN` with `\keys_set_exclude_groups:nnnN` to avoid errors under debug mode starting from l3kernel 2026-09-09 (#1095).
- Raised the minimum required LaTeX3 version to 2025/10/09.

package.
Version: 1.7.0
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: TikZ-native shapes and anchors for classical physics diagrams
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
tikzphysics 1.7.0 adds thermodynamics and thermal physics/heat transfer,
with native apparatus, equation-based PV processes and cycles, shared PV
frames, latex heat-flow arrows, and integer percentage anchors. New optics
include plane mirrors, plano lenses and meniscus variants. Mechanics,
fluids, solids, tracks and waves gain 23 native components. Differential
centroids, projected disk visibility and cylinder height markers are fixed;
projected rims expose percentage coordinates. Physical strokes now inherit
native TikZ line widths. Updated documentation, visual galleries, regression
tests and the single-file Overleaf runtime are included.

### Fixes
This version of the Markdown package has fixed the following issues:
- In the `witiko/diagrams@v2` built-in theme, do not pass the removed
`--pdfFit` option to the `mmdc` commands >= 10.0.0, where its previous
semantics are now the default. (da48ca6f, 07737d8c)
- Fix option `frozenCache` not rendering diagrams in the built-in
`witiko/diagrams@v2` theme. (5a5e325d)
### Documentation
This version of the Markdown package has made the following improvements to the
documentation:
- Bump GitHub Actions in `README.md`. (38ad058c)
- Update the earliest supported LaTeX3 version from `2025-01-18` to
`2025-05-14`. (82d3854c)
### Continuous integration
This version of the Markdown package has made the following changes to our
continuous integration:
- Prevent several workflows running for the same pull request / Git ref.
(11cc3c0b)
- Never prematurely stop matrix jobs just because one failed. (97070998)
- Fix the reading of the `buildDocumentation` workflow dispatch input.

Liam Huang submitted an update to the
xpinyin
package.
Version: 3.2 2026-09-27
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Automatically add pinyin to Chinese characters
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
xpinyin v3.2 brings new commands for querying pinyin data, broader input
support, updated Unicode data, and several bug fixes.
NEW FEATURES
- `\disablepinyin` now has a starred form that also covers the `\xpinyin`
command itself. (#265)
- Four new commands `\xpinyinvalue`, `\xpinyininitial`, `\xpinyinshengmu`, and
`\xpinyinyunmu` for querying the pronunciation of individual characters, useful
for Chinese index grouping and sorting; the data table is loaded on demand via
the `query` option. (#550)
- Pinyin arguments now accept `ü`/`Ü` directly, equivalent to the existing
`v`/`V` notation. Previously `\pinyin{nü3}` produced the literal text `nü3`
under XeTeX, and caused an error under pdfTeX with `CJKutf8`. (#1069)
BUG FIXES
- When xeCJK's `AutoFallBack` has switched to a fallback font, the box used for
width measurement no longer reselects the main font, fixing ruby text being
compressed to an incorrect width. (#997)
- `\setpinyin` now also updates the query table for characters not in the
built-in database; previously only the ruby table was updated while
`\xpinyinvalue` still reported "no pronunciation". (PR #1051)
- `\setpinyin` now strips the trailing `5` (neutral tone marker) when storing to
the query table, consistent with the convention that the query table omits the
digit for neutral tone; previously the `none` form returned `shi5` instead of
`shi`. (PR #1051)
OTHER CHANGES
- Pinyin data updated to Unicode 18.0 Unihan (v3.1 used 14.0), adding
pronunciations for about 3,000 more characters; the preferred reading of about
300 characters has changed accordingly, mostly corrections to the current
standard pronunciation, e.g. "绩" changed from `jī` to `jì`. The characters
"子", "們", "啊", "啦", and "哇" retain their original neutral-tone readings.
Use `\setpinyin` to override when needed.
- Added standalone regression tests and integrated version-consistency checks
for tag-based release builds. This only affects the test and release workflow,
not the package behavior.

FYP submitted the
mpformulation
package.
Version: 2.0
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Typesetting mathematical programs (optimization models)
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
mpformulation typesets mathematical programs (linear, integer and nonlinear optimization models) the way they appear in operations research journals: a named objective, a "subject to" line, and one constraint per line with its quantifier (for all i in I) and an equation number.
Main features:
- "subject to" and the final period of the model are added automatically;
- numbering per constraint, per model with sub-numbers (1a, 1b, ...), or a single number for the whole model; labels for the model number and the model name;
- constraints too wide for the line, e.g. in two-column journals, are reorganized automatically: the indent shrinks, the quantifier is broken at its commas or moved below, and optional break points can be given in long expressions and objectives;
- optional alignment of the constraints on their relation symbol, and left-aligned quantifiers in a common column;
- no page break after the objective or "subject to", nor before the last constraint.
The package is configured with key-value options, globally or per model. The manual introduces each feature with an example.
