New on CTAN: cprotect-other
by CTAN Announcements 07 Oct '26

07 Oct '26

Javier A. Múgica submitted the cprotect-other package. Version: 2026-10-06 License: pd Summary description: An alternative \cprotect that avoids the .cpt files Announcement text: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This package provides an alternative to cprotect. It defines the macro \cprotect, to be used in the same way as the one from the homonymous package. The one from this package avoids the .cpt auxiliary files that pollute the working directory, and it is not specific to LaTeX; it only needs eTeX. It is also much faster than \cprotect, though you typically don’t place many \cprotect in a project. If you have some weird catcode settings the macro may fail. However, the relevant definition is so simple that in a case like this you can just copy-paste the macro from the package and modify it for your unusual setting; it is obvious how to do it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/cprotect-other The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/generic/cprotect-other/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for the upload. CTAN update: suai-report
by CTAN Announcements 06 Oct '26

06 Oct '26

Grigorii Moiseev submitted an update to the suai-report package. Version: 2.7 2026-10-05 License: mit Summary description: Reports for Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation Announcement text: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2.7 fixes several errors in the line-based block commands and extends the support for listings. Fixed: - A block (\suailist, \suaitable, \suaieq, ...) now ends at a line starting with \section, \begin, \end, \par or \clearpage. A block right above \end{document} used to stop the build. - A lstlisting environment right below a block keeps its first line of code. - \suaitable: spaces or "|" inside a formula in a cell no longer break the table. - A % comment in a line of a block applies to that line only. - A Russian abbreviation at the end of a list item keeps its full stop. - An unknown listing language gives a warning instead of an error. - suai new --title: the characters & _ ^ and $ in a title are escaped. New: - Listings: JavaScript, TypeScript, Kotlin, Rust, JSON, YAML and Dockerfile are defined by the package, with short language names such as cpp, cs, js, ts, py. - The PDF bookmark of an appendix carries its letter. Changed: - Tables typed by hand (tabular, tabularx, longtable) are set with the line spacing of the text, as \suaitable is. Use \renewcommand{\suaitablestretch}{1} to make all tables single-spaced. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This package is located at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/xetex/latex/suai-report More information is at https://ctan.org/pkg/suai-report -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the upload. CTAN update: linguexx
by CTAN Announcements 06 Oct '26

06 Oct '26

Gerhard Schaden submitted an update to the linguexx package. Version: 1.4 2026-10-04 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: A tagging-aware package for typesetting linguistic examples and glosses Announcement text: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ linguexx 1.4 adds movement arrows and verbatim text in examples, and contains several bugfixes. New features in 1.4 * Movement arrows: \mvto{a}{What} did John buy \mvfrom{a}{\_\_}? draws an arrow from the base position to the landing site, below the line, or above the object line in a gloss. Several movements in one example are stacked out of each other's way, and the links of a chain stay on one level. In beamer each slide has its own arrows, so they stay with their words across \pause and \only. In a tagged PDF the base position is read as "__ (moved)". * \verb, fancyvrb's \Verb and listings' \lstinline now work inside an \ex. example, in sub-examples and in glosses. Fixed in 1.4 * An empty gloss cell {} was dropped, so every gloss after it sat under the wrong word. * References to examples with a custom label, \ex.[(7)]: \ref printed nothing for the example itself and "(0a)" for its sub-examples, and all such links led to the first of them. * With cleveref, a \label in the prose after an example was referred to as the example, and a \cref list mixing numbered and custom-labelled examples could lose one of them. Changed in 1.4 * linguexx now needs LaTeX 2022-06-01 or later. A package option given a value, such as [legacy=true], is now an error: write [legacy]. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The package’s Catalogue entry can be viewed at https://ctan.org/pkg/linguexx The package’s files themselves can be inspected at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/linguexx/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thanks for the upload.
