On Wed, 22 Feb 2006, Wybo Dekker submitted an update to the ctable package. - ctable.sty provides commands to easily typeset centered or left or right aligned table and (multiple-)figure floats, with footnotes. Instead of an environment, a command with 4 arguments is used; the first is optional and is used for key,value pairs generating variations on the defaults and offering a route for future extensions. - replaces ctable-1.6b.tar.gz - major changes (relative to v1.6b): option captionskip to influence whitespace between caption and table option rotate is now obsolete, use the option sideways instead. The latter rotates tables: - by 90 degrees anticlockwise in onesided documents, - with their head to the fold in twosided documents. On Mon, 20 Feb 2006, Javier Bezos submitted an update to the mem package, which contains the experimental code he's writing for Lamed (ie, LaTeX + Aleph). This is still a pre-alpha release, which is being developed as open source on SourceForge: http://mem-latex.sourceforge.net He writes: This release is still a somewhat unorganized set of files and it fixes many small bugs, as I think it's preferable to stabilize the current code before ever tackling new features. In addition: - The OCP switching mechanism has been written from scratch (and now you can trace how processes are built). Now uppercase/lowercase works too, and yo can mix, say unaccented uppercase for French and accented uppercase for Spanish. - verbatim begins to work. The problem was in the char primitive, but I've found a workaround. Unfortunately, when trying to fix char Aleph has introduced new bugs which were not present in eOmega (no workaround yet). - New examples and a few minor additions and bug fixes (eg, and d were messed up). On Sat, 18 Feb 2006, Juergen Fenn submitted the new package wordlike to CTAN. Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/wordlike Licence: LPPL The package consists of these files: * wordlike.ins * wordlike.dtx * README with some hints to installing the package Wordlike.sty is a simple package that may be used to simulate word processor layout: * Narrow page margins (2,5 cm) * Times/ Helvetica/ Courier fonts * ormalsize + small headings, and * sloppy typesetting (sic!) throughout are provided. The package aims at making life easier for those users who are discontent with LaTeX's standard layout settings because they need a layout that resembles the usual wordlike output. Exceltex' intention is it to provide a do it once and forget solution for accessing data from spreadsheet files.
