On Fri, 23 Mar 2007, Alexander Grahn submitted an update to the
animate
package.
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/animate
Summary description: Create PDF animations from graphics files and inline graphics
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Another bug has been removed that prevented the use of animate with the
Beamer document class.
Unfortunately, animations do not work in Adobe Reader 8 due to user-rights
restrictions that have been imposed on several important JavaScript
methods by Adobe. The documentation files (README, animate.pdf) have been
updated accordingly.

There was a conflict between the `animate' environment and a command of
the same name provided by the Beamer document class. Thanks to William
Slough who discovered and reported this issue to me.
Therefore, I decided to rename the environment `animate' into
`animateinline' in the hope that this name has not yet been used by
another package or class.
