For mixed partials, the overall order (algebraic or numeric) is calculated by the package. Optional arguments specify points of evaluation / variables held constant, and the placement of the differentiand (numerator / appended). Key = value settings tweak the display. Further commands construct analogous coefficients from D, Delta, and delta, and write Jacobians. Also included is diffcoeffx.sty which is diffcoeff.sty on steroids.
