Three hyperref-based macros that simplify usage of hypertarget and

I also used them in automatically generated hyperindex while documenting
some database project.

A .sty file and an example .cls (documentclass) for documenting (La)TeX
packages, document classes, .dtx etc. providing hyperlinks, compatible
with doc.sty (no warranty :-) and letting to mark up the code minimally
(no macrocode env. necessary anymore). Needs hyperref and three 'basic'
packages of mine: gmutils, gmverb and gmiflink.
As a bonus, the driver files are added that typeset the LaTeX
(TeXLive2005) Base.

The following information was provided by our fellow contributor:
Name of contribution: arabi version 1.1
Author's name: Youssef JABRI
Location on CTAN: /language/arabic/arabi
Summary description: A package toa add support of Arabic and Farsi to
(La)-TeX, compliant with BABEL
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Arabi package provides the Arabic script support for TeX without
the need of any external pre-processor. The Bi-directional capability
s that the user has a TeX--XeT or e-TEX engine. Arabi is fully
compliant with the BABEL system.
Among the new things with Version 1.1:
==========================
+ You can search and copy Arabic and Farsi text from PDF files
generated by pdflatex (read the documentation to know how to)
+ You can use TeX4ht to make HTML files.
+ Now we can have Arabic in the bookmarks sidebar, although hyperref
is still not fully supported yet.
+ In Farsi contexts, Digits (0, 1, . . . , 9) are written with the
extended Indo-Arabic (Farsi) digits.

This package is located at
http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/language/arabic/arabi
. More information is at

I have installed a new version of the UK TeX FAQ on CTAN, in directory
help/uk-tex-faq
This new version includes some work on tidying the FAQ-as-a-whole, and a
small number of improvements and additions (see extracts from the
CHANGES file, copied below).
(I did in fact install a new copy last week, but problems with it were
detected almost immediately, so I delayed announcement until the
problems were resolved and this replacement installed.)
The FAQ appears on CTAN as
http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/uk-tex-faq
and in the catalogue as
http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/faq.html
However, browsing (and rather feeble searching) is best achieved via the
web interface at
http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq
The CHANGES file for this release mentions:
Changes in version 3.16c
New answer:
+Label isdef: is this command defined? tests
Revised answers:
+Label bibprefixsort: two new examples
+Label citeURL: provide a list (rather than a bunch) of alternative
styles, mention babelbib
+Label multirow: mention the case of multicolumn-multirow
+Label music: correct Web output of package list at end of answer
+Label oarglikesect: mention kernel command @dblarg
+Label secthead: rewritten accounts of sectsty & titlesec
+Label tutbitslatex: added pointer to Fauske's page on PGF/TikZ
+Label watermark: noted that package draftcopy doesn't work with pdflatex,
+Label watermark: mention draftwatermark
+Label whatbst: correct reed.edu link
Bugfix:
+Release dates are now represented in ISO format (yyyy-mm-dd) --
previously we used the LaTeX format, using solidus instead of hyphen

xbase bundle
on behalf on the LaTeX Project.
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/exptl/project/xbase
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The xbase bundle provides the packages xparse and template.
xparse provides a high-level interface for declaring document commands,
e.g., a uniform way to define commands taking optional arguments,
optional stars (and others), mandatory arguments and more.
template provides an interface for defining generic functions using a
key=val syntax.
All files are also available in the Subversion (SVN) repository of the
LaTeX3 Project, which is located at
http://www.latex-project.org/svnroot/experimental/trunk
The bundle on CTAN is a snapshot of the SVN repository as of 2006/12/12.

* Renamed macro textpathVar to textpathFont.
* Added macro textpathRaw, that supports typesetting
mathematical formulae along a path.
* Added configuration variables
textpathRepeat,

textpathHSpace,
textpathShift,
textpathFancyStrokes,
textpathStrokePrecision,
textpathCureSqrt.

On Wed, 6 Dec 2006, Heiko Oberdiek submitted new packages
centernot, stackrel.

cs{not} on the following argument. Unlike
ot the symbol
is horizontally centered.
* stackrel v1.0
This package adds an optional argument to stackrel for
putting something below the relational symbol and defines
stackbin for binary symbols.
