On Fri, 1 Jan 2010 Josef Kleber submitted the
installfont
package to CTAN.
Location on CTAN: /support/installfont
Summary description: A bash script for installing a Postscript Type1 font family
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With this script you can install a Postscript Type1 font family (at least the four
basic cuts + small caps + faked slanted (pdflatex), but no expert fonts) for using
it with LaTeX (MiKTeX). The script expects the *.pfb and *.afm files named in the
Karl Berry scheme (e.g. 5bbr8a.pfb). Just adapt the script variables to your fonts
and directories. After running it, you should have a working font installation
in your local TeX tree.

Summary description: 2D & 3D TeX-Aware Vector Graphics Language
License type: lgpl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The precision of the 3D perspective sizing routines were
improved. The offset in transformed 3D labels with render=0
was fixed. 3D planar arrowhead gaps were fixed; a duplicate
3D arrow angle factor was removed. Pen width contributions
to the box and ellipse envelopes were fixed. A more robust
contour algorithm based on paraboloid approximation was
implemented. A polargraph routine for arrays was
implemented. Default font problems were fixed. The
pdfborder={0 0 0} option was added to
settings.hyperrefOptions; the hypersetup command is now used
to avoid hyperref option clashes. The size of pngalpha
images was fixed; the pngalpha driver is used only if
antialias=2. The -alpha Off default convert option was
removed in favour of convertOptions=-alpha Off. Inlinetex
support for xelatex was updated. Picture transformations
are now respected by latticeshade. The Bessel functions J
and Y were renamed to Jn and Yn. An operator --(block,
block) was implemented to simplify the flowchart syntax. The
expression % expands to the last result returned at the
interactive prompt. The GLU-1.3 library included in the
MSWindows distribution was fixed.

On Mon, 28 Dec 2009 Martin Scharrer submitted an update of the
tikz-timing
package.
This package provides macros and an environment to generate timing diagrams
(digital waveforms) without much effort. The TikZ package is used to produce
the graphics. The diagrams may be inserted into text (paragraphs, hbox, etc.)
and into tikzpictures. A tabular-like environment is provided to produce larger
timing diagrams.
Location on CTAN: /graphics/pgf/contrib/tikz-timing/
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This update fixes a couple of smaller bugs in v0.7 and adds
some functionality.
The changes in detail are:
General:
* Fixed scaling behaviour of timing node shape.
* Fixed scaling of reference coordinates.
* Added `timing/unit`, `timing/xunit` and `timing/yunit` options.
Parser:
* Added local scopes `{ }` incl. push and pop of saved options.
Documentation:
* Changed manual to screen optimised format.
* Updated examples.
* Updated documentation.
* Added figure to illustrate nodes inside a tikztimingtable.
* Added subsection about how to scale the complete table.
tikztimingtable:
* Added alias for last row: '`last row`'. Renamed old internal node with the same name.
* Changed ` ableheader` definition to allow two extra optional arguments for the two mandatory ones.
* Updated table header macro in `nicetabs` library.
* Added rectangle node '`all rows`' around all rows of a tikztimingtable.
* Added label node names incl. 'all labels' node.
`advnodes` library:
* Fixed wrong border coordinates. Enabled old node centers for existing example code.
* Fixed `EE` and `DH` anchor points.
`counters` library:
* Updated `counters` library to use macro instead of TeX counters to avoid
problems with multiple definitions of the same counter character.
* Added several new options for `counters` library.
* Internal code improvements for `counters` libraries.
* Added counter styles.
`interval` library:
* Fixed interval boundaries.

Summary description: Simple syntax and smarter layout for trees in TikZ
License type: gpl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This package provides a macro for drawing trees with TikZ using the
easy syntax of Alexis Dimitriadis' Qtree. It improves on TikZ's
standard tree-drawing facility by laying out tree nodes without
collisions; it improves on Qtree by adding lots of features from TikZ
(for example, edge labels, arrows between nodes); and it improves on
pst-qtree in being usable with pdfTeX and XeTeX.

On Tue, 22 Dec 2009, Pedro Quaresma submitted an update to the
dcpic
package.
Location on CTAN: /macros/generic/diagrams/dcpic
Summary description: Commutative diagrams in a (La)TeX or ConTeXt document.
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
DCpic is a package of TeX macros for graph modeling (e.g.
commutative
diagrams) in a (La)TeX or ConTeXt document. Its
distinguishing features are: the use of PiCTeX a powerful
graphical engine, and a simple specification syntax. A graph
is described in terms of its objects and its edges. The
objects are textual elements and the edges can have various
straight or curved forms.
The author is Pedro Quaresma.
