the central cambridge university switches, etc., will all be down from about 08:00 to 17:00 next sunday 2004-08-01. the university will keep needing more central facilities and the entire backup power supply is to be replaced. as a result, all the cambridge ctan services will be inaccessible for that period. (we don't take power from the centre, so at least our machines ought to survive the down-time.) my apologies for the inconvenience; among other things, it will allow even more under-used bandwidth to the cambridge ctan. CTAN: ttb changes

The package that I installed yesterday as info/biblio/ttb has been put in info/bibtex/tamethebeast . You can look at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/bibtex/tamethebeast Note in particular that the .pdf now works. (Who knew that saving a .pdf from acrobat by printing to a file would cause it to come out as PostScript document text conforming at level 3.0?) This area needs more attention; hints on regular expressions from the old set is no more -- which probably doesn't matter (much) since almost no-one uses quote site index any longer. Systems, etc. Expunge mention of the (defunct) 4allTeX CD-ROM under editors and shells (it had long since gone from CD-ROM answer). Mention the MikTeX CD from the CD-ROM answer.
